This week in G3.1 we have been adding and subtracting 2 and 3 digit numbers. We then applied our knowledge to using money. We've had a lot of fun playing math games such as Capture 5 and Collect $2.00. Our first unit of the year is Who We Are and we are looking into the idea that 'with rights come responsibilities.'
We were looking at 52 children rights, choose one and telling each other what it meant to them. We started off by separating needs from wants. We then matched those needs to articles from the UN Convention of Child Rights. We chose a right from the convention that we then discussed in a group. Everybody in the group had to comment on each other's choice. We've looked at the short videos about children's rights getting denied. We then had to figure out which right was not being upheld and who's responsibility it was to uphold that right. - Written by Teddy, Aubrey, Nayoung and Miss Amin
